Hidden Features of the VLC Media Player

The VLC media player is a cross-platform, portable media player that is free and open-source. Developed by the VideoLAN project, it is available for desktop and mobile platforms. The user-friendly interface allows you to quickly and easily start playing your favorite videos and music. If you’re new to media players, we recommend starting with the VLC media player. It’s free and has a large user base.

The VLC media player comes with an extensive list of hidden features. One of our favorite features is the ability to convert videos to different formats. Click Media > Convert/Save to convert a video to a different format. The Open Media dialog box will include an Add button and Convert option. Click Convert to begin the conversion. Once your video is converted, you can play it on your computer or share it with friends.

The VLC player also allows you to edit videos. You can control the volume and change the ringtone. You can also edit audio files with the audio equalizer. This tool can be accessed from the Tools and Effects menus. Simply check the box for “audio equalizer” and adjust the sliders. You can also use the Spatilizer and Compressor tabs to adjust other settings. There are no restrictions when it comes to the amount of customization you can do with VLC.

If you’re using a Windows computer, you’ll have to install an extra component to get VLC to work with a DLNA server. You can install the MPRIS module for Windows to interact with the VLC media player. However, you’ll have to ensure that your firewall is not blocking the port 1900 UDP. This option will also allow VLC to play audio files. You can also use MPRIS to control VLC using keyboard shortcuts.
